Stage preparation

The stage will require a slightly angled 10mm diameter hole drilled in it to accept the manipulator barrel. The barrel usually sits snugly in the hole but can be secured with threadlock if loose. The angle of the drill bit is so that the barrel leans 5 degrees forward. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Assembly sequence

  • Insert barrel into 10mm hole drilled in stage.
  • Insert drive screw into barrel end.
  • Slip arm retainer onto barrel and secure loosely with grub screw allowing rotation but not play.
  • Drop in one or two ball bearings kept from arm connector and insert piston.
  • Attach arm.
  • Attach connector and needle shaft. Attach Luer glass needle holder.
